The world that they imagined, where lesbians could carve out a life that was meaningful was so much smaller than the world that I live in because of the extreme homophobia that they encountered, because of still so many realities of sexism that legislation and societal change has really affected from 1976 over the past 40 years.” - Julie Enszer
